Other issues in Media and Society

To begin with, I would like to invite you all to read about all these other issues in media and society that I will talk about. It is important to realize how many important topics there are, which need to create awareness since some issues that might seem small or harmless need the most attention to uncover the big problem.

This blog talks about young people and media, more specifically how they are affected by the daily exposure to media, and how does their usage of the media contain certain risks. This blog is very entertaining and uncovers the problems of this theme, therefore I find it a really good blog to read as it is important to know. It is well-structured and supported by good evidence making it easy to read and making it flowing. This issue is also very important to media and society.

The blog by Adéla is about the effect of instagram usage and picture editing on young people. Although this might be similar theme as Ignacio had, this is more specific and targeted towards Instagram more. This blog is great in terms of seeing the daily effects the famous Instagram has on young people and how it affects their self-esteem by wanting to be "liked". It also uncovers the problems of the ability to edit the picture which might then create an "ideal world" for the young people making them think they are bad in comparison. Very important theme and a must read when using instagram.

This is a blog about the sexualization of women in mass media. This is an important issue, since when only the most attractive women will be shown is mass media, men will then create that in their head as the only acceptable type of women, which will then make all the other women ashamed of themselves, lowering their self-esteem. This blog is well-written in an organized way with many interesting discussions.

It talks about a very special topic of lookism. Visit this blog to see how people are judged by their looks, body and not being as judged by what is inside. This theme is very important and interesting, since we all might do this without even knowing it. The blog tells about many ways how it affects us as well as many different scenarios.
